The Future of Bioeconomy: Tools, Standards and Policies to Accelerate the Transition
ECOMONDO 2025 | November 5th, 16:00–18:00 | Rimini, Italy
As part of the ECOMONDO 2025 programme, the Italian Standards Body (UNI) is organising a dedicated session within the BIORADAR project, funded by the European Union under the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU).
The session, titled “The Future of Bioeconomy: a discussion between tools, standards and policies to accelerate the transition”, will take place on November 5th (16:00–18:00 CET) in Rimini, Italy.
A dialogue to shape a sustainable bioeconomy
The bioeconomy is a rapidly evolving domain that bridges science, policy, and innovation to drive Europe towards a sustainable and circular future. It plays a pivotal role in achieving the EU’s climate and energy goals for 2030, reaching climate neutrality by 2050, and addressing biodiversity loss and pollution.
In this context, the event will gather experts, policymakers, and innovators to discuss how digital tools, harmonised standards, and collaborative frameworks can strengthen the credibility, transparency, and sustainability of the European bio-based sector.
Drawing on the work of the BIORADAR project and enriched by insights from Horizon Europe projects BioReCer, United Circles, and bi0space, the session will explore:
- Metrics and indicators to assess bioeconomy performance.
- Digital tools for sustainability evaluation and stakeholder engagement.
- Policy and standardisation recommendations to enhance public trust and social acceptance of bio-based industries.

If you are attending ECOMONDO 2026, don’t miss this session — an essential stop for anyone interested in shaping the sustainable and standardised bioeconomy of tomorrow.
